Hartnell Community College

The educational trajectory of the Millennium generation splits into two. Academic and Vocational.

 

As with most Community Colleges in California, HCC focuses their vocational education program on meeting the needs of their local industries.

 

Hartnell, located in central California the food basket of America, is an agrarian community which has acres upon acres of farmlands. Diesel engine powered tractors, machineries, etc. are abundant, as is the need for diesel mechanics.

 

This facility, located on the college’s satellite campus, houses their modular automotive technology program.  Breaking down the program into modules such as Engine, Transmission, Electrical, Brakes, etc. This contemporary interpretation of the automotive technology program informs the project’s design.
