Cafetorium, Bloomington High School
Built in 1962 for a population of approximately 900 students, the original cafeteria building at Bloomington High School quickly became antiquated and over-encumbered as the communities of Bloomington, Colton, Fontana, and Riverside prospered. Now with more than 2,000 students, the new cafetorium transforms the campus into a modern, flexible, and adaptive learning environment, where nutritional and educational programs are fully supported. The new cafetorium features large, store-front windows, skylights, a full-prep kitchen, and a central stage. The windows and skylights make ample use of the beautiful, natural daylight. Flowing with the ordinary ingress/egress of students, the windows also provide proper accessibility, safety and security. With its multipurpose space and new nutritional offerings, it is a facility that supports diverse needs.
